Heather McKenzie: BIO
Heather McKenzie
Let me tell you stories about love,
Let me tear off little bits of my life
And let you hold them,
Let me pour my heart out to you
So it can fall through your fingers,
This is my blood and tears
These little songs,
They once were mine, and now are yours.

Heather McKenzie - Vocals/Piano
Born in Alberta, Canada to a musical family, Heather began studying classical piano at the early age of three, and left home at fifteen to pursue a musical career. After touring for years in various cover rock bands, the desire to record and write her own music arose. Heather recieved a grant from FACTOR for the recording of a song called 'Milly'. With Kory Burns engineering, the better part of 2005 was spent recording at Lumpyland Studios in Edmonton. Lane Arndt, Tony Chmyrzinski, Byran Bueckert and Kory Burns are featured players along with some guest appearances by Mike Plume, Doug Banas, Jeff Maxwell, and Kevin Cook. A product of sheer determination and obsession, the album Every Waking Moment was written and produced by Heather and released October 2006. In October of 2008 Heather recieved a grant from Rawlco Radio towards the recording of the album 'Eleven:Eleven'. Russ Klyne produced 11 songs written by Heather which were recorded at Sound Extractor Studio with Stew Kirkwood engineering. Lane Arndt and Roy Shermack covered the bass tracks, with Byran Bueckert on drums and Russ Klyne on guitars. The album was released June 2009. 'All I Need' and 'Pilot' are the first singles recieving airplay. The Heather McKenzie Band is currently playing shows in and around Edmonton.
Some unrelated, boring, irrelevant facts: Heather lives in Edmonton, is a vegetarian, is a fan of The Office (Dwight Rocks!), has a dog named Dwight (he rocks too!) plays in a cover band called Crush, is allerigc to purple, really likes rum and cokes, and is reffered to as somewhat of a hippie by friends.
